Heys... ok.. i'm back to blogging.. i guess i just cant get rid of the habit of pinning down my thoughts regarding the events that hav taken place in my life...
well.. looking back to the past few months i've spent in mj... it was definitely an enjoyable one.. i have to admit jc life is definitely not easy, people hav higher expectations of u and you must try to meet them. The transition from a an all girls sch to a mixed sch was much easier than i thought and i'm proud of myself that i've managed it well...
hmmm.. lets do a recap on some of the major events that happened after i've stopped blogging...
1. Orientation- Time where u met your new classmates, being introduced to this awesome class 10S403! :D Had a series of games, activities, mass dance, amazing race... being ever so loyal to ur house- TRITON! i was amazed by the series of events that was planned solely by MJ's 7th SC... orientation was so much more large scaled as compared to the ones in sec sch... impressive...
2. SC rallies and elections- Time where i had made the decision to step up the do something different... i have to admit.. no other cca made me feel passionate abt doing the job. This period of time was a period of uncertainty.. but i was definitely glad to have our fellow mentors, jarvis, wanying, dorissa guiding my rally group along.. in preparing our rally performance, speech, posters, great wall of 8s. At that point of time i'm also ever grateful to 10S403... they're ever so supportive of me.. cheering me along and believing in me that i would be able to achieve what i've wanted.. and indeed i had.. thank u mj for voting for me to be part of your 8th Students' Council!
3. SIMUN- at times i wish i took H1 lit instead of H1 history, but this event will always strike me that if i hadn't taken history i wouldnt be aware of this event and it actually existed :X
There were times during the preparation period at which i had a feeling of regret that i've actually attempted to sign up and got through the tests to be part of the few delegates attended it..
This is all due to the numerous hours spent working on resolutions, training hours on thurs... and getting all stressed up when i feel that my resolution is not up to standard (also partly due to reputation of the rest of the colleges taking part in this event) But now looking back i'm glad i did attend it.. SIMUN gives one a platform to debate on world issues, meet new friends.. oppose resolutions and support it.. an experience that could not be explained.. :)
4. Council camp- A physically and mentally training camp but one tat have bonded the EIGHTS! and train us to be full-fledged councillors... though i was annoyed at the part we hav to carry eggs around every single place we went... but i had a sense of achievement that i did not break any eggs:) The camp trained us to stay bonded and our endurance... eg. we had to carry a stretcher with someone on top of it from pasir ris park to mj...
5. SPAM.AD(suggestions Power And Might, Make A difference) - first activity that the 8th SC planned... had fun being in the suggestion and feedback comm:) enjoyed the experience of evaluating what the student body wants in the college:D Hours spent clearing the council store to sell off leftover orientation package with the council was fun:) Plus.. a great thank u for the student body for being ever so supportive in our booth and help in raising funds for the student lounge:)
6. Tjc dance concert- Had gen chan, shang hsuen and elaine as my companions to accompany me to watch veron's dance concert:) Its great to see them again.. i seriously enjoyed their companion:) their presence made the night a really special one:) I've never laughed so much since i've started jc life.. it feels nice to be with the ppl you're comfortable with... Its also nice to see my Alma mater dance perform again.. they seriously live up to a gold with honours dance club:) Veron danced beautifully too... i really enjoyed the performance.. Really hope that we would be able to hang out some time soon..
7. MJC 8th SC Investiture (Inflechir)- Hours spent doing our walk-in, sewing hearts for our gifts, stapling programme booklet, hours after sch having rehearsals that i've to have dinner at 10.. hahaha...
But all the hard work is worth... received lots of positive comments from those who attended it (many enjoyed our walk in) .. it was also nice meeting other fellow councillors from other colleges:) this event marks the point where the 8th SC is officially recognised by the sch... and we're expected to live up to expectations of a councillor... GO EIGHTS!!! :D
