Its sun alr! Cant believe a week had alr passed! It was tiring having activities going on every single day such that i dont have much time to myself... but oh wells.. the tiring level couldnt be compared the mental stress i have in JC last yr. Mon & Tue- Council Chalet, Wed- MJC open house and work at kumon, Thurs-work at Kumon Toa Payoh, Fri- 1st working day at another kumon centre, Kumon Siglap, Sat- work at Kumon Toa Payoh, Sun- Titanic Artifact Exhibition at Marina Bay Sands.
Council Chalet was held at Aloha Loyang! It was great seeing a lot of councillors that i havent seen for quite some time.. ppl like mich, eunice, sylvina etc. We played card games, Wii, mahjong and camwhore a lot! This always happens with von is ard:P I think i got 400plus photos in 2 days! Wii was really really fun! Esp. the dance central! Super funny watching Thomas and Erika compete in dance central!! And the best thing is von actually took a video of them dancing! I couldnt stop laughing while watching the video on my laptop! Free entertainment! :D
Council chalet was the only chalet that i've been to that doesnt have bbq, instead we whip up our own meals! Real fun cooking too! We had spaghetti with mushroom or tomato sauce for the first evening and agolio for the 2nd evening. Credits to sylvina:) I just love veggies! Hahas! I only helped out with the cutting of cabbage and frying! Helped to fry chicken nuggets and harshbrown, plus introduce a healthier way of pan frying harshbrown to mich and ranice that got addicted and they started stealing some in the kitten before its served:P Wed was MJC's openhouse! Bought Geraldine on a personal tour ard MJ! Feels gd to be back in mj! I somewhat miss studying there! But i dont miss the jc curriculum! >.< I'm so glad that cokie wants to follow my footsteps to come mj, just a pity that she doesnt want to join council, she's probably joining choir. Seeing her all excited when i show her the different parts of the sch like LT4 reminds of myself 2 years ago, hahas! Time flies~ Ohh! mj's interhouse mass dance was awesome! I just love the sch and house spirit! I think its like one of the strongest among the different JCs in S'pore:) Such a pity i only manage to catch 2 houses mass dance as i've to rush off at 2.30 for work! That was my 2nd day at work and i'm on my own alr! Apparently they lack manpower on wed, it was stressful at some times when i've so many kids in front of me all requiring my attention. But i mangaed to get through the day, just need to get used to multi-tasking...
Thurs, i returned to kumon at 9am to finish up the marking that was incomplete the day before... finished marking at abt 1plus... and i spent the rest of the day lying on my bed, daydreaming and listening to songs on my laptop. I feel so lazy that day, cos of the headache and neckache due to the lack of sleep...
Fri went to the Kumon centre at Siglap where veron was working at cos i wanna work on more days so that i earn more money to pay for my leisure activities and practical driving lessons! The centre there was quite lively though there wasnt any students there on the day. I was down to help out with the marking . Ohh, the 2 kumon centres have different marking styles, so i took some time to get used to theirs. Next time when working at 2 centres, i must learn to be able to switch to the respective marking styles. The teachers there are funny too from the way they talk abt their students and random stuff. I met 2 part-timers too! Both are O level graduates:) Looking forward to working a new environment.
Sat was working back at Kumon Toa Payoh, I was on my own again... But i think i coped better as compared to wed... Ohh, I was asked by the teacher in-charge to try marking higher level english w.s, so maybe i'll be transferred to teach older students? Also happen to see someone coming to the centre for an interview, hopefully she'll join us:)
Sun met up with veron first at eunos mrt to go to plaza sing to buy bedroom slippers cos the Kumon at siglap doesnt allow us to wear our shoes in and to do some shopping. I also bought a top for cny! :D Met up with Adrian, Thomas and johnston later at Marina Bay Sands ArtScience Museum for the Titanic Artifact Exhibition! First time going to the museum! Excited much! I really think the money was worth spending! Got to know and experience so much more abt this significant historical event or shld i say tragedy that struck in history. Really insightful cos u get to see real artifacts retrieved from seabeds, exactly same replicas of the decorations that was on board the actual Titanic ship! At the entrance of the exhibition we're also given boarding pass that feature the passenger's name that boarded the ship! Other info such as the class u belong too and brief background of the passenger was also shown there. And at the end u get to check whether u and ppl accompanying have survived the journey! And i so happen to get a passenger's name who was quite similar to my name! Hahas! She's called Irene and had a husbund who was a broadway producer! Cool cool:) What really impress me was the exhibition reaches out to our 5 sense to allow us to really feel we're on board the ship! For eg. in the dinning rm, u can hear the sounds of cutlery and chattering, as if there r ppl really dinning there! And in the boiler rm where the engines of the ships are, u can smell like a bit of the burning of coal! :D
My favourite place was the outdoor deck! Where u can see the nightview of the ships and the whole sky filled with 'stars' and sea! Though they are fake stars but they look so real! If u stare at it long enough, u can see them blinking! Ahh, so nice... u can also feel like some breeze! At that point, I really feel very carefree and relaxed... Wish i could stay at that place all day! The scene of the stars filling up the whole sky is still stuck in my mind! hahas! Call me naive or what.. but yea.. thats my fav part of the exhibition! In 2-3 years time when i've earned enough money, i wanna go on a cruise! So i can really see real stars at night! :P If u havent go for the exhibition and feel like learning smth new and experiencing smth fresh... go for the titanic exhibition! Highly recommended! :D
